| Sailor Moon is another anime that shows on Cartoon Network's Toonami
block. It is about Serena, a teenager in Junior High, that discovers
a talking cat named Luna. Luna gives her a moon small wand and tells
her to shout, "Moon Prism Power". She does and is transformed into
Sailor Moon. Whenever Sailor Moon is in trouble, another hero named
Tuxedo Mask always comes to save her. His real name is Darien, and
eventually becomes Serena's boyfriend. Later in the series she meets
the other sailor scouts, Mercury, Mars , Jupiter, and Venus. They
later learn that they all came from the moon kingdom. Serena was the
princess, Queen Serenity was the queen, Tuxedo Mask was the soon to
be prince, and the other sailor scouts were the guardians of the moon.
Serena will be the next queen. In the second or third season, a little
girl named Rini appears a Serena's doorstep. Rini hypnotizes Serena's
family into thinking that she is their cousin and that she is going to
live with them, but she is really trying to find her mother. She won't
tell anyone, but her mother is Serena, Queen Serenity in the future.
As the series continues, we learn that Rini becomes a sailor scout too.
One of my favorite things about Sailor Moon is the different attacks
the sailor scouts use. As they become more powerful, they aquire new
attacks. Each scout has her element of attack except for Sailor Moon,
she just finishes the enemy off. Sailor Mercury has water or ice, Mars
has fire, Jupiter has lightning, and Venus has energy, I think. Cartoon
Network has started to show some new episodes of Sailor Moon, and
I hope they will conitinue to. |
